Walling in Ireland

Cotswold walling is just one of many different styles of walling around the country. Some say it is much harder than other styles due to the irregular nature of a lot of the stone and we all know that frustration of wondering just where that odd shaped piece of stone is going to fit. Others say it is easier than heaving the huge rocks around that have to be used further north.

Whatever your opinion we are told on our training courses that the basic principle is that one stone goes on top of two others and then the wall shouldn't fall down. Here is an example where that rule has gone completely out of the window.
