Friday 18th May, 8pm The Oxfordshire Rebellion of 1549. Finstock Local History Society. Ian Hatton talks about a little known revolt in a time of religious upheaval, involving Woodstock and Chipping Norton, with a poor outcome for some of the naive rebels. Finstock Village Hall
Thursday 24th May, 5.30pm Oxfordshire Woodland Project, The Eric Dougliss Memorial Walk. An informal walk in Centenary Wood, Charlbury in memory of Eric Dougliss, County Forester. Please ring David Rees on 01865 815427 to book your place. Meet at the Bowls club, Ticknell Piece Road, Charlbury.  Refreshments available afterwards.

Friday 8th June, 10.00am Where Am I? Easy walk, 3.5 miles, 2.5 hours.  North, South, East, or West?  How do you know where you are or where you are going? Use a map and features in the landscape to understand how to navigate your way in the countryside.  Designed for accompanied children 5 upwards. Thursday 14th June, 10.00am The Flowers and Wildlife of the Glyme Valley.  Easy walk 3 hours, 4.5 miles. A circular walk starting and finishing in Chipping Norton.  It includes a feast of wildlife habitats including species rich limestone grassland, ancient hedgerows as well as Over Norton parkland with its veteran trees and orchids.  Led by an expert naturalist. Wednesday 27th June, 10.00 By the Sherborne Brook & Water Meadows.  Moderate walk, 6 hours, 9.5 miles.  A super walk through Sherborne to the River Windrush & its water meadows & onward to The Fox at Little Barrington for lunch.  Return through the villages of Windrush & Sherborne. Tuesday 3rd July, 10.00am A Summer Walk to the Rollright Stones.  Moderate,  4.5 hours, 8 miles. Thursday 16th August, 10.00am Down the Windrush to Mitford Country. Moderate walk 5.5 hours, 9 miles. The walk heads downstream from Burford to Swinbrook and Asthall with their connections to the illustrious Mitford family.  An optional lunch is available at the Maytime Inn in Asthall before returning via the lost village of Widford. Sunday 2nd September Wychwood Forest Fair. Wychwood's green country show. 11.00am - 5.00pm Foxburrow Wood, nr Witney.

Saturday 15th September, 10.00am Slate, Forest and Villa.  Moderate walk, 5 hours, 9 miles.
