The Wychwood Project
A project that combines history, conservation and local communities within the former Royal Forest of Wychwood.
14 Jan 2010 - Nick Mottram, Wychwood Project Director is delighted to announce that, together with the Friends of Wychwood, the Project has recently secured nine hectares (twenty two acres) of farmland on the north-east fringe of Witney with the intention of creating Wychwood’s newest and largest community woodland. In 1086 the Royal Forest of Wychwood covered much of what is now West Oxfordshire. The Wychwood Project was established in 1997 to raise awareness of the history and identity of the area, and to work with local communities to restore its rich patchwork of landscapes and habitats within the Forest boundaries.
The Wychwood Project operates on very limited funding therefore we appreciate any donations that can be made to the project to ensure the valuable work we undertake continues.
Thanks to the Friends of Wychwood you can now help fundraise while you surf the web or shop online. You can also donate directly with the help of Charilty Choice.
